Great Addington Councillor Surgeries
If you have something you would like to discuss with your Great Addington local councillors why not attend their surgery to be held at the Memorial Hall, Great Addington on Saturday 27th November at 10.00am to 12 noon. It will also be an opportunity to share your views on the Village Neighbourhood Plan –this will give the community of Great Addington power to develop a shared vision for the neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of the local area.
Remembrance Sunday will be held on Sunday 14th November at 10.00am. The chairman of Great Addington Parish Council will lay a wreath on behalf of the community. In view of Covid-19 all Remembrance Services in the Benefice this year will be held outdoors.
Great Addington Litter Pick
Thank you to everyone that helped with the litter pick last month.
Parish Council meetings
The next meeting of the Parish Council is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 10th November at 7.45pm in the Memorial Hall, Great Addington.
Parking near to Great Addington School
Once again, the Parish Council is asking all those that park near to the school at busy times to please be considerate about where and how vehicles are left. We have been notified of vehicles parking across peoples drives and also parking on double yellow lines. The safety of all our residents and the community who attend the school is everyone’s responsibility – please take it seriously.
Speeding
Speeding in the village continues to be a problem – a reminder to all to pay attention to your speed at all times.
Dog Fouling
We would like to remind people to clear up after their dogs – this is a health hazard as well as being very unpleasant for all those using our pathways in and around the village. Please be considerate and clear up their mess.
Hello,
Can you tell me if the school and subsequently the parents are notified of these parking concerns? The illegal parking runs at numerous cars twice a day and is certainly dangerous. Is it possible to have temporary traffic cones for a short period to act as a deterrent?
We are in contact with the school and have paid for a banner on the school fence promoting responsible parking. In addition we have been in contact with the Fire service, Police, North Northamptonshire council ward Councillor Dorothy Maxwell amongst others. Unfortunately we are powerless to enforce anything and are reliant on the goodwill of the parents, most of whom don’t live in the village. We can enquire about cones and will see if it is possible.
